Hi, I’m Lydia
Welcome to our little space on the big wide web.
Whoever you are, wherever you are, there’s a place for you here.
About the classes
Yoga
Classes are mostly Vinyasa style (Flow Yoga), but you can expect to find Yin, Restorative and Power Yoga practices too. We’ll use Pranayama (breath work) and Asana (poses) to better understand ourselves, to challenge ourselves or to nourish ourselves, whatever that moment is calling for. We’ll move in different ways, get curious and learn to listen to our bodies.
Class levels are labelled purely based on the physical aspects of the class, I think we can all agree that the mental aspects of practice can often prove more challenging than the physical!
Pilates
Pilates is having her moment and we LOVE it!
These mat work classes are designed to challenge you, creating a stronger body and mind, we blend the Classical with more creative and dynamic combinations. Expect to develop your core, improve posture and to feel good about yourself!
There are upper, lower and full body focussed classes, again, with something suitable for all levels of experience.
About me
I’m a thirty-something, Yoga teacher and Pilates instructor (yes, ANOTHER one).
I love being active and have done most forms of movement/exercise out there over the years. Now days are filled with lots of dog walking, horse riding, occasional forays into the gym and of course my own Yoga and Pilates practice.
Yoga started as a purely physical practice for me after an injury left me unable to do much else for a few years. Gradually the spiritual practice took hold and I realised how much more there was to it and I still try to learn as much as I can. I love being on the mat, clearing my mind and I love the lessons that can be taken off the mat that help with everyday ‘grown-up’ life.
The discipline of Pilates really does it for me, I love the challenge, the progress, the precision and control. I like getting creative with the movements and also bringing it back to its classical roots.
If any of that resonates with you, then perhaps you’ll enjoy it here too!
‘Come as you are’ is the ethos here.
My aim for this platform is for you to finish each class feeling ‘better’ whatever that means to YOU. I mean it when I say that this is a place where whatever version of you exists in that moment, is welcome here. Whether you’ve had a good or bad day, whether you’re happy or sad, feeling great about yourself or struggling with some things. Whether you’re in a matching gym set or coffee-stained pj’s, Come As You Are.
Lydia, x
